Hi there— I’m Liz, owner and founder of Briga Collective. I’ve spent my career inside the nonprofit world — the place where care and exhaustion so often coexist. Over the years, I’ve led organizations, built programs from the ground up, and raised millions to support community-centered work. But what’s mattered most hasn’t been the metrics or milestones — it’s been the people. The staff who keep showing up. The leaders trying to hold it all together. The communities proving, again and again, that resilience is a collective act.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Organizational Communication from Doane University and a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Management from the University of Nebraska–Omaha, along with a Certificate in Fundraising Management. I’ve continued to learn through programs like Leadership Tomorrow, the Nonprofit Excellence Institute, the T.E.A.M. Building Culture Executive Leadership program, and most recently, LeadDIVERSITY through Inclusive Communities.
I’ve always believed that leadership isn’t about hierarchy — it’s about how we show up for one another. That belief has guided my community work too: serving on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters, mentoring as a Big, chairing initiatives that center connection and access, and supporting the next generation of changemakers. In 2025, I was honored to be named the Inspire Woman of the Year — recognition that felt less like a personal achievement and more like a reflection of what can happen when we lead with clarity, courage, and care.
Now, through Briga, I’m reimagining what it means to lead sustainably. I partner with mission-driven leaders and organizations to challenge burnout culture, nurture belonging, and build systems of care that actually hold us. Because the truth is simple — care should never require our collapse.
Hello!
Named for the Celtic goddess of creation, craft, and care, Briga Collective honors the firekeepers of our time: those who continue to imagine a more humane world, even when the systems around them are failing.
Briga is both a sanctuary and a catalyst:
a place to restore, reimagine, and rise.
